We made the decision to buy the Advocate 70CS after concluding it had the best safety ratings, irrespective of price. We installed it in our Honda CR-V using latch system, all appeared well (although it was slightly slanted to one side, we couldnt seem to get it straight). This week (after nearly one year of use) we were horrified to discover that the reason it was always slanted was because it was missing one of the two primary bolts used to fasten the restraint bar to the base (as a result, the latch system was completely compromised). When I removed the seat from the car, the latch belt simply fell off the chair! This means in an accident, our seat would not have been adequately restrained to the base. A few quick searches online showed several others had the same issue (missing parts). I called Britax, they are promptly shipping us a new car seat, no questions asked. I will... Oh, our kid was luckily not in the truck at the time of the accident and fortunately there were no serious injuries either... I did my research and found out that this is one THE BEST and safest car seats one can put their hands on. Unfortunately, this is also one of the most expensive car seats out there! I really do wish this car seat was cheaper especially since I had to buy two (one for each car!). I did search everywhere and ultimately this was the best price you can get at Two Hundred Seventy Four dollars and Ninety nine cents with Free shipping. I looked for over a few months! As far as the product goes, you'll immediately understand why this seat is so great once you get it out of the box. The updates are just extra discussion that you may or may not want to bother with. ************************************************************** Update 3: Amazon is currently selling a "Previous Version" and a "Current Version" of the Advocate 70 CS. Since I just bought my fifth Advocate from Amazon that happened to be this "Current Version" I felt compelled to transfer the effort I put into reviewing this identical product from the "Previous Version".
