We purchased this car seat based on our daughter's Recaro Signo which the ProRide replaces.
We had bought the First Years True fit a year ago were mostly satisifed with it, but did't like the fact it did not have the wings that support the head against a side impact. Our grandson already liked the feel of the Signo so he was right at home with the ProRide. He seemed like the True Fit was a little wider so he seemed to flop a little move when he fell asleep. The ProRide seems to keep him more upright between it being a little narrower and having the head wings.
The only potential downside we found was the way it is designed puts it a little closer to the roof of our back seat so we have to watch his head a little bit when putting him in the seat. It really isn't much of an issue though. Our daughter has an SUV so there is more headroom.
